Internet & Technology Working Group
This working group is chaired by Microsoft and currently has members from law enforcement, NGOs and industry. The aim of this group is to identify high-level policies and technologies that can be utilised by law enforcement, the financial industry and internet service providers to combat child abuse websites. They work very closely with the Law Enforcement Co-operation Working Group in order to identify and advise on prevention and disruption strategies.

Terms of Reference
Aims
- The targeting of persistent Child Abuse Image websites by:
- Defining a process that will facilitate the effective and long-term removal of the most persistent commercial child abuse image (CAI) websites
- Being led by law enforcement on appropriate targets
- Actively seek the participation of ISPs and relevant companies.
- Advise law enforcement on identified technical strategies for the disruption of commercial child abuse websites.
- Identify developed technologies and services ensuring they are available to law enforcement
- In the long-term consider the development of technology and services that can combat CAI websites
- Ensure all the above activity follows the principles and documentation of the National Intelligence Model (NIM) (as agreed by the EFC Steering Group).
- Ensure that learning is disseminated to the other EFC working groups and the Steering Group via the Secretariat
Scope
The Internet & Technology Working Group will work with law enforcement and the financial industry to identify technological solutions to CAI websites.
Methodology
The Internet & Technology Working Group will meet at regular intervals to discuss relevant issues, determine work products and timeframes to be delivered, to apportion responsibility for delivery of those work products and to report back to the EFC Secretariat and Steering Group.
