CEOP's Thinkuknow Resources

CEOP's Thinkuknow education initiative aims to empower and educate children and young people about the risks they face online. Our wide range of resources provide children and young people with the knowledge to identify the risks posed to them online and the tools to mitigate those risks.

All resources are available to professionals who work with children from CEOP's Thinkuknow website and are free of charge. Safer Internet Day is a great opportunity to utilise CEOP's Thinkuknow resources to raise awareness of online safety issues among children, parents, professionals and the wider community.

New Resource for 2011 - Exposed

CEOP are excited to announce the launch of a new film on Tuesday 8th February; ‘Exposed’. This 10 minute drama with supporting lesson plans has been designed for 14 to 18 year olds. ‘Exposed’ deals with the subjects of sexting and cyberbullying, issues that teenagers commonly face.

The film follows the life of a 15 year old girl named Dee. Dee makes a common mistake undertaken by many teens and sends an inappropriate photo of herself to her boyfriend. These photos become public and are quickly distributed via a social networking site and possibly wider!

The audience watches Dee’s emotions unfold as she is helped by her alter ego to come to terms with the consequences of their actions. They discuss the cyberbullying she is subjected to, the shame and embarrassment of her friends and family finding out, her future and finally the possible legal implications. Together they find solutions and work out where to go for help and advice.

'Exposed' and its supporting materials are now available for download from the 'Teachers and Trainers' area of CEOP's Thinkuknow website and on CEOP's Youtube Channel.
