Training
At the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre, we are committed to preventing the sexual abuse of children in both the online and offline environments.
We work alongside our colleagues in the criminal justice and child protection agencies in the UK and abroad to add value to existing services and provide greater support to professionals working in this area.
Training Courses
We provide a series of specialist training courses aimed at professionals who:
- Conduct criminal investigations where the sexual abuse of children is a factor;
- Manage offenders in the community or within the justice system;
- Take responsibility for safeguarding children from sexual predators.
Our unique training courses are designed to do two things. Firstly, to help delegates better understand the nature of sexual offending and secondly, to impart the skills and knowledge that can better equip professionals to deal with the very difficult and distressing nature of this crime.

CEOP Academy
The new CEOP Academy will, for the first time, offer an academic qualification for specialists involved in dealing with child sex offenders and child abuse.
This will offer continuous development for professionals working in the child protection environment.
Law enforcement officers, child protection specialists and investigators will be able to work towards achieving a Post Graduate Certificate in Forensic Behavioural Analysis – accredited through the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). More information.
International Training
In recognition of CEOP’s commitment to combating child exploitation and making every child matter everywhere, the Training Team is actively engaged in the delivery of capacity building and training initiatives in countries across the globe where child sexual exploitation is a problem. These initiatives are delivered in partnership with a variety of stakeholders internationally including the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), international governments, law enforcement, NGOs, industry and the judiciary.
Conferences
In addition to our established portfolio of training courses, we are developing a series of exciting one-day events that will focus on some of the key issues surrounding child sexual abuse. The conferences will feature specialist speakers from a variety of fields, all of whom have a specialist knowledge of working to combat child sex abuse. More information.
